US stocks dropped on Wednesday amid deepening worries over sub-prime lending. Federal Reserve's warning that the weakness in housing sector could hurt economic growth for some time added to the worries.

The Dow Jones industrial average slipped 53 points to 13,918. The Nasdaq shed 13 points to 2699.

Indian ADRs ended marginally weak. HDFC Bank plunged almost 4% to $88.69, and Dr.Reddy's dropped 3.6% to $16.25. Tata Motors slipped over 1% to $18.19. Most of the other ADRs ended with marginal losses.
