Wall St slumps; ADRs tumble

The US indices dropped on Tuesday as the subprime mortagage crisis escalated. The Dow Jones industrial average slumped 148 points to 13,502. The Nasdaq plunged 31 points to 2639.

Indian ADRs, too, ended with significant losses. Infosys, Wipro, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, MTNL, VSNL and Dr.Reddy's shed 2-4% each to $52.83, $15.79, $50.18, $86.28, $7.93, $23.50 and $16.50, respectively. Tata Motors, however, spurted over 1% to $17.94.
