Water resources department plan ceiling at Rs 2,222 crore

The annual plan ceiling of the water resources department (WRD) for 2010-11 has been fixed at Rs 2222.64 crore. It is the highest among all the departments.

Out of Rs 10,200 crore outlay approved by chief minister, Naveen Patnaik for 2010-11, the energy department has been given a plan ceiling of Rs 1249.96 crore, followed by the works department with a ceiling of Rs 893.75 crore.

School and mass education department has been given a plan ceiling of Rs 881.74 crore followed by Rs 813.55 crore for the women and child development department.

While the ceiling is Rs 342.68 crore for agriculture department, the same for steel and mines department is Rs 2.8 crore. The ceiling has been fixed at Rs 154.5 crore for the health and family welfare department and Rs 852.5 crore for the Panchayatiraj department.

 

The plan ceiling is Rs 377 crore for the rural development department, Rs 545.37 crore for the planning and co-ordination department, and Rs 505.61 crore for the scheduled caste and scheduled tribe welfare department.

The planning and co-ordination department has asked the departments to send the plan proposals and the tabular information, for preparation of the plan document. This would be sent to the Planning Commission (PC) for approval.

After discussion in the working group of PC on the plan document sent by the state government, chief minister Naveen Patnaik will hold discussion with the Planning Commission to finalise the size of the state plan outlay for 2010-11, sources added.
