West Bengal Tourism Development Corporation (WBTDC), the nodal agency for tourism growth in the state, has failed to disburse subsidies to the new units which have come up in the last few years.

Industry sources said six or seven units were denied their entitled subsidies over the past few years. The combined subsidy outstanding of WBIDC would be nearly Rs 1 crore.

An investor, who set up a new hotel largely banking on the government subsidy, said he was yet to receive several lakhs of rupees for two years. He said WBTDC disbursed only 30 per cent of his receivables.
