An NGO today asked the Shiv Sena to withdraw a CD showing widows of debt-ridden farmers, indulging in flesh trade.

"It is unfortunate that Sena is using the CD, which was a clipping of a news story of a private news channel showing widows indulging in prostitution in Amravati district," Vidarbha Janandolan Samiti said in a release today.

Shiv Sena has been using this CD to highlight the plight of farmers in the region during its campaigning. The NGO said the CD contained false and misleading information.

"Can a widow of a farmer, whose husband committed suicide after being unable to bear the financial burden, resort to such tactics," the samiti asked and stated further that it has already lodged a complaint with the Press Council of India and National Commission for Women in Delhi.

The NGO has objected to Shiv Sena seeking votes by showing the CD during campaign which, it said, was hurting the sentiments of distressed farmers.
