Work on the much-awaited Bhanuppali-Bilaspur-Berry railway line in Himachal Pradesh will start soon as the railway ministry has sanctioned Rs 350.33 crore for the first 20-km stretch of the line, Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal said in the Assembly on Thursday. Preliminary survey for the 63-km line, which was started by the railways in 1985, is expected to finish by 2009 end.
The entire project will cost Rs 1,040 crore, out of which Rs 784.85 crore will be spent by the Railways, while the rest will be borne by the state government.
