At a time when farmers in Punjab are facing challenges from diminishing land holding, WorldWide Immigration Consultancy Services (WWICS) has opened way for them to explore investment opportunities in Ukraine.
Talking to reporters, BS Sandhu, chairman and managing director, WWICS, said they have identified 50,000 hectares of land in Ukraine where the farmers could take land for lease up to 15 years and earn from agriculture and allied activities like dairy farming.
According to WWICS officials, dairy farming is a lucrative business in Ukraine since the country meets more than half its milk demand through purchasing from other countries.
WWICS is a company dealing in immigration, settlement, strategic business consultancy and real estate all over the world. To begin with, a group of farmers could take 250 acres of land on lease for 15 years with an initial investment around $300,000.
Sandhu maintained they have initiated talks with the Punjab government and urged the ministers to allow the farmers to invest in Ukraine. He said they would organise seminars in different parts of the state to educate the farmers about agricultural opportunities in Ukraine.
Meanwhile, Sandhu also maintained that the new immigration policy for Cananda would significantly reduce the processing time of visa applications in the federal skilled worker category.
