Yeddyurappa to seek trust vote on June 6

Yeddyurappa, who met the Governor Rameshwar Thakur this morning, persuaded him to address the joint sitting of both Houses of Legislature on June 6.    

Thakur had earlier refused to deliver his address to the joint session unless Yeddyurappa proved majority of his government.     

After accompanying Yeddyurappa to meet the Governor, Minister S Suresh Kumar told reporters: "Governor has agreed to address the joint session on the morning of June 6. Thereafter Yeddyurappa will move a motion to seek vote of confidence".    
 
Suresh Kumar said under article 176 of the Constitution it is mandatory for the Governor to address the joint session when a new governmet assumes office.     

 

The State Advocate General Udaya Holla has also tendered similar opinion to the Governor,he claimed.
