Young Indian's summit in Bangalore from Feb 25

Young Indians (Yi), a part of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), the apex association of Indian business and industry, will have its second summit 'Transforming India: Making it Happen' in Bangalore on February 25 and 26.
 
The two-day summit will comprise sessions on social issues, education, unemployment, technology, leadership and management by eminent speakers from industry, government, sports, the armed forces, media and entertainment and non-government organisation (NGOs).
 
Topics discussed will be 'Educating our future', 'Tackling unemployment-for faster growth', 'Towards better infrastructure: Taking ownership', 'Technology with innovation: Contributing for a better life', 'Media: shaping minds for a better India' and 'Environment: We can make a difference'.
 
The eminent speakers of these session will include Sachin Pilot, member of Parliament, B J Panda, member of Parliament, Rakesh Mittal, vice-chairman, Bharti Enterpises, Balu Doraisamy, president, HP India Pvt Ltd, B S Baswan, secretary, Ministry for Human Resources Development, Sanjeev Bikhchandani, CEO, Naukri.com, S Mahalingam, chief financial officer, Tata Consultancy Services, among others.
 
Addressing mediapersons, Narayan Sethuramon, chairman-Yi Summit, said, "The Yi Summit 2005 will act as a platform for existence open interaction, sharing of inspirational stories and both formal and informal networking."
 
Yi operates through a structure comprising the Governing Council (GC) which is national policy body responsible for devising strategy. Yi currently has eight chapters in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Pune, Hyderabad, Bangalore and Cochin with a combined membership of around 300 young people.
 
It plans to open around six chapters in India as well as two international chapters this year.
 
Launched in December 2002, Yi is a movement of young Indian professionals comprising progressive Indians below the age of 40 years from various walks of life.
