Notwithstanding the continuing cease-fire violations across the Line of Control and rising political tensions, a dynamic group of young entrepreneurs across various sectors is travelling to Pakistan, to explore business deals and investment opportunities.
Going to Lahore and Islamabad under the aegis of Confederation of Indian Industry's Young Indians, the delegation has about 50 people, part of the Commonwealth Asia Alliance of Young Entrepreneurs (CAAYE). They come from the education sector, fashion industry, agribusiness, healthcare, architecture and logistics sectors, among others.
During the Sunday to Wednesday visit, they will interact with the Lahore University of Management Sciences, Arfa Karim Software Technology Park and Pakistan Fashion Design Council. There will also be a day-long Indo-Pak Young Entrepreneurs Summit, followed by a meeting with young students at the ROOTS School, Islamabad, and preparing a business case study by studying the success story of Bahria Town. Meetings are also proposed with the chief minister in Lahore and the Indian High Commissioner at Islamabad.
There will also be a meeting with the Young Entrepreneurs Forum of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Besides business deals, both sides aim at more people-to-people interaction, thereby providing opportunities to increase the flow of trade and business. The delegation will be led by Rahul Mirchandani of Aries Agro Ltd, also founder-president of CAAYE. Other members include Nitya Mirchandani of Aries Agro, Shiraz Gidwani of Iktara World, Jennifer Lewis of Kamat Infratech, Sirajuddin Babukhan of Vibrant Cars and Rasika Wakalkar of Renee Enterprises.
