11 injured in CPI(M)-TMC clash

Police confirmed the back to back clashes and said altogether 25 persons were arrested during series of raids in the area

Eleven persons were injured in a clash between CPI(M) and Trinamool Congress at Pandua in Hooghly district today.

Police said trouble broke out over writing of wall graffiti in the area and seven persons were injured.

Trinamool sources claimed the seven belonged to their party and were attacked by CPI(M) supporters early today.

This morning another clash ensued before Pandua CPI(M) zonal office in which four others were hurt.

CPI(M) Hooghly district Secretary and former minister Sudarshan Roy Chowdhury alleged the four were Marxist supporters who were beaten up by Trinamool men during an attack at the zonal office.

Police confirmed the back to back clashes and said altogether 25 persons were arrested during series of raids in the area.
 
The 11 injured were all treated at Pandua Rural Hospital, police said.
