The letter written by party’s National Secretary Pankaj Gupta, accused the BJP of intimidating AAP volunteers. The party, in the letter, also complained the Gujarat police was threatening AAP workers.
Gupta said that party leader Manish Sisodia who is also on a tour in Gujarat with party convener Arvind Kejriwal is travelling with an advocate and the police is threatening people whom Sisodia is talking to.
"The police that is travelling with him is intimidating anyone whom he is speaking to, eating with or staying with. The police is going to their homes, aggressively telling them that the meetings are not allowed since the Moral Code of Conduct has been applied," stated the letter.
The party also questioned the timing of disappearance of the Gujarat police at the time when Kejriwal's car was attacked by some goons on Wednesday night.
However, the party admitted that some of the volunteers retaliated to the attack and "threw back some of the stones thrown at them."
"Since the Election Commission is charged with the responsibility of ensuring the code of free and fair elections, we request you to institute an independent inquiry into this issue," said AAP.
