The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday announced its list of candidates for 52 Lok Sabha constituencies.
The BJP declared candidates for 18 constituencies in Karnataka. The party has fielded former Karnataka Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa from Shimoga district, sitting MP Ananth Kumar from Bangalore South and Sadananda Gowda from Bangalore North.
Party also announced its candidates for West Bengal constituencies. The party has given ticket to Nimu Bhowmik from Raiganj, Chandan Mitra from Hooghly and singer Babul Supriyo from Asansol.
The names of the candidates were discussed in the BJP Central Election Committee meeting earlier today. The meeting was attended by BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, party president Rajnath Singh, L.K. Advani among others.
