Union Law Minister Kapil Sibal on Tuesday said that Bharatiya Janata Party prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi's recent tweets are nothing but pure politics, and added that the latter has a forked tongue.
"What about all the statements he has made since 2002 against the Congress leadership? Modi speaks in a double voice. He himself gives such statements; he has a forked tongue," claimed Sibal.
"Why doesn't the BJP expel Giriraj Singh for what he has said? Why don't they lodge an FIR against Praveen Togadia? Whatever is being said and done is pure politics and Modi will continue to do so," he said.
Modi on Tuesday took to twitter to express his disappointment over recent hate speeches delivered by party leader Giriraj Singh and Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader Praveen Togadia.
"I disapprove any such irresponsible statement and appeal to those making them to kindly refrain from doing so," Modi tweeted.
"Petty statements by those claiming to be BJP's well wishers are deviating the campaign from the issues of development and good governance," he further tweeted.
