Braving the scorching summer, the second phase of election campaign for the April 10 Lok Sabha polls in Kerala is all set to become vigorous with national leaders of political parties reaching the state in coming days.
With barely 12-days left for polling, candidates have started door-to-door campaign to lure voters. Huge cutouts with pictures of candidates have found place in every nook and corner of the state. Road side meetings and motorcycle rallies by party workers as part of campaign have gained momentum too.
While UDF candidates have put up flex boards, featuring the 'achievements' of UPA government along roadsides, rival LDF have also come out with similar posters blaming UPA for soaring prices of essential commodities and 'corruption'.
Election based talk shows, organised by various regional television channels with animated discussions by candidates and senior party leaders, have intensified the poll scenario in the state. To give added boost to the UDF campaign, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, AICC Chief Sonia Gandhi and Congress Vice-president Rahul Gandhi would address election rallies in different parts of the state in the first week of April.
