Congress Lok Sabha poll candidate from Karimnagar, Ponnam Prabhakar today filed his nomination papers here.
After submitting his papers to the Returning officer, Prabhakar appealed to the people of his constituency to allow him to serve them again while saying that he succeeded in developing the constituency and also fought for the formation of a separate state.
He also informed that Congress president Sonia Gandhi will arrive in Karimnagar for poll campaigning on April 16.
During the campaigning for the 2009 elections in Karimnagar, Sonia had promised formation of a separate Telangana state which she fulfilled, he said.
The Congress party and people of Karimnagar are thankful to the Congress president for her efforts towards the formation of Telagana, he added.
Karminagar Lok Sabha seat will go to polls on April 30.
