Former BJP chief Nitin Gadkari today said the Congress-led UPA government was punished by people on the issues of ill-governance, inflation and corruption.
Gadkari, who made his electoral debut in Lok Sabha polls in Nagpur seat, said people in general and Vidarbha region in Maharashtra in particular have rejected ill-governance of the Congress-led UPA.
"People were fed up with price rise and corruption under the UPA government at Centre and wanted a big change in the leadership in the country," Gadkari told reporters at his residence here.
