The Congress on Monday lambasted the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) manifesto, accusing the latter of seeking votes in the name of religion by promising a Ram temple in Ayodhya. "The manifesto should have been announced before the date of announcement of polls. The Election Commission should restrain the BJP from publicising the manifesto. The manifesto talks about building the Ram Mandir, which violates the principles of secularism," the Congress said.
