Gurgaon district administration has decided to add the cost of a newspaper, which was being published into favour of Aam Aadmi Party without proper registration here, into the election expenditure of AAP candidate Yogendra Yadav.
District Media Certification and Monitoring Committee has found it as a violation of Model Code of Conduct and decided to add the cost of newspaper 'Aap Ki Kranti' into the election expenditure of Yadav.
In addition, the Committee has recommended action as per law for distribution of the unregistered newspaper, Committee Chairman cum Gurgaon Deputy Commissioner Shekhar Vidyarthi said.

Yadav said that 'Aap Ki Kranti' is not a newspaper and it is only a pamphlet which was being published for distribution into Aap workers and not amongst the public.
As per Section 15 of Press and Registration of Books Act 1867, any person who prints or publishes a newspaper without confirming to the rules may be punished with fine not exceeding Rs 2,000 or imprisonment for a term not exceeding 6 months or both.
