DMK today alleged that the two Puducherry MPs belonging to Congress and also AINRC government led by N.Rangasamy had failed to use funds under MP Local Area Development scheme and in utilising budgetary allocations for development of the Union Territory.
DMK Puducherry unit convener M A S Subramanian claimed in a release that sitting MP in Lok Sabha and Union Minister of State in PMO V Narayanasamy had utilised only 38% of the total funds earmarked under the MPLAD scheme.
Subramanian also lambasted P.Kannan elected to Upper House in 2009 from Puducherry, alleging he had not utilised the funds in the first year of his election to Rajya Sabha. This had consequently resulted in non allocation of funds under the scheme in the subsequent years, he charged.
He claimed AINRC government had not utilised fully the funds earmarked under the plan for Puducherry and appealed to voters to reject the Congress and AINRC in the April 24 Lok Sabha polls.
