Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi on Tuesday said Lok Sabha elections in THE Telangana region will be more pivotal than it will be for the rest of the country.

"These elections are not ordinary. This election is more important for the people of Telangana than for the rest of the country. If a son is born in a family, and if the child's mother dies, it becomes very difficult to raise him with proper attention," said Modi while addressing a rally here.

"Now, you have to decide what kind of a government do you want in Delhi? Do you want to vote for those who have been rejecting Telangana for years, due to which more than 1100 youths died?" he asked.

Modi said that a huge price had been paid for the creation of Telangana.

"It has been made possible only due to the sacrifice of the people. It is upto you to decide in whose hands do you want to give Telangana," he said.

"It does not matter which government comes to power in Telangana. We need a government that can nurture the state from the centre. Just by marking out a state on a map, won't change the future of Telangana, it will change only after the lines on the hands of the youth change," he added.

He reiterated that nepotism is the enemy of democracy, and added that it has destroyed the whole country.

"The newly born Telangana will not be given in the hands of such people, who are looting the country. Telangana needs special care and attention. I can do this work for you, as more than three lakh people belonging to Telangana reside in Surat, and I have been taking care of them," he added.
