Former Congress minister Dayanand Narvekar, currently heading newly-formed Goa Democratic Front, filed his nomination from North Goa Lok Sabha constituency here today.

Narvekar recently resigned from Congress to form GDF.

He is facing sitting MP and BJP leader Shripad Naik and Ravi Naik of Congress in the contest.

"Goa's issue would be solved through Parliament now, which is a much bigger platform compared to state legislative assembly," he commented.

Narvekar criticised Congress, BJP and AAP over their policies.

"Our agenda is pro-people and we have no strings around us like what BJP has in the form of Modi," he said, adding that his party would soon release its manifesto and poll symbol.
