In response to Bharatiya Janata Party's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi's allegation that the Congress is promoting slaughterhouses in the country to boost meat export, the Congress said Modi's Gujarat, too, exports meat and that animals are illegally transported from other states to Gujarat.
The party also accused Modi of trying to "communalise animal husbandry".
While addressing rallies in Madhya Pradesh, Modi had said his government had brought a white revolution in the country but the Congress was trying a pink revolution, referring to the high rate of meat export.
