It will be BJP Vs Cong in Hyd: Kishan Reddy

A triangular contests would be witnessed in districts like Karimnagar, Warangal or Nizamabad where the TRS is a strong player

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Telangana committee president G Kishan Reddy today said his party would have a straight fight with the Congress  in Hyderabad  and nearby areas. The presence of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) candidates would make little impact, he added.

The party is contesting 47 out of the 119 Assembly and 9 out of the 17 Lok Sabha seats in Telangana in alliance with the Telugu Desam Party (TDP). A scenario of triangular contest is expected to emerge as a major trend in Telangana as  the TRS and the Congress are fighting separately in addition to the TDP-BJP combine.

According to  Kishan Reddy, the fight in Hyderabad and the neighbouring areas would be mainly between TDP-BJP  and the Congress while triangular contests would be witnessed in districts like Karimnagar, Warangal or Nizamabad where the TRS is a strong player.

“Ultimately, individual strength of the candidates will also play a major role,” he said on the sidelines of a media interaction. He criticised the TRS for issuing a statement that it would join the third front and keep away from both the Congress and the BJP. He said the TRS stand will go against the interests of Telangana.
