The state election commission would keep extra vigil on the last two days to check expenditure before Chhattisgarh would go to the final phase of elections on April 24.
"The state election office had asked all the district election officers asking to launch special drive and keep a close vigil on the last two days expenses of the candidates," the election office spokesperson said. The state electoral officer, Sunil Kujur had circular to the district officials in this connection, the spokesperson added.
The remaining seven Lok Sabha constituencies in Chhattisgarh would go to the polls on April 24. This would be the third and final phase of polling in the state. In the first phase, polling was held only in the Naxal-infested Bastar Lok Sabha constituency on April 10 while three other constituencies namely Rajnandgaon, Mahasamund and Kanker went to the polls on April 17.

"In the circular, the state electoral officer said that April 22 and April 23 were very sensitive and the district officials should give a close vigil on the expenditure," the spokesperson said.
The commission had already put in place flying squad, video surveillance to track the expenses incurred by the candidates during the election campaign.
