No nomination yet for IInd phase LS polls in Raj

In view of Jhulelal Jayanti there will be holiday on April 1 and filing of nomination would not be held

There was no nomination filed yesterday for the IInd phase of Lok Sabha polls to be held on April 24 in five parliamentary constituencies of Rajasthan, an Election Commission official said today.

The notification to this effect was made yesterday.

In view of Jhulelal Jayanti there will be holiday on April 1 and filing of nomination would not be held, he said.

Similarly, due to Ramnavmi on April 8, the process of withdrawal of nomination would not be done, he said adding the last date of withdrawal will be April 9.

Five highly sensitive Lok Sabha seats of Alwar, Bharatpur, Karauli-Dholpur, Dausa, and Tonk-Sawaimadhopur will go to polls on April 24.
 
The last date of filing nomination papers is April 5 while scrutiny of papers will be held on April 7, he said.
