Commenting on the protest by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) supporters, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal said he is ready to face anything and, added that protests will happen as he has challenged the vested interest of some powerful people.
"They are protesting and they will do that, especially after you challenge the biggest vested interests in the country. We are ready to face all of this. You face obstacles when you walk on the path of the truth but in the end only the truth prevails," said Kejriwal.
He appealed to his supporters not to indulge in any kind of violence with anybody, and asked them to maintain peace.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) supporters had taken to streets against Kejriwal, calling him an 'escapist' and accused him of not doing anything as Chief Minister of Delhi.
"We want Modi to win from Varanasi by promoting Gujarat model of development. Arvind Kejriwal failed to do anything in Delhi as Chief Minister", said Rakesh, a BJP supporter.
Opponents and former supporters accuse Kejriwal of rabble-rousing and there have been violent clashes between his followers and supporters of the BJP.
