Poll code violated: SDM's notice to BJP

Party used a microphone, put up banners on government property and created traffic congestion, says officer

Press Trust of India Raigarh
Raigarh Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) has issued a show-cause notice to BJP for allegedly violating the model code of conduct by putting up a 'NaMo tea stall' here and using microphone for campaigning without permission.

In the notice issued to district BJP president Rajesh Sharma, SDM Tirtharaj Agrawal said the party violated the poll code by using a microphone in its campaign at Jail Road here on March 8 and also put up banners on government property without permission.

The putting up of 'NaMo tea stall' resulted in traffic congestion in the area, the officer said.

Agrawal said a police case would be filed if BJP's response is found to be unsatisfactory.
