Poll code violation: FIRs against Mathura candidate of AAP, RLD

RLD candidate not only addressed an election meeting but offered the audience food without prior permission

A complaint has been registered against Mathura Lok Sabha candidates of both RLD and AAP here for violation of model code of conduct, officials said.

An FIR has been filed against RLD nominee Jayant Chaudhary and a separate complaint has been registered against AAP candidate Anuj Garg and its celebrity campaigner Col Devendra Singh, they said.

"RLD candidate Jayant Chaudhary on Friday not only addressed an election meeting in Pusp Vatika falling under Sadar police station but also offered the audience food without prior permission of the district election officer", ADM Dhirendra Sachan, In-charge of model code of conduct, said.
 

An FIR has been filed against him in this connection, he said.

Similarly, AAP candidate Garg called a press conference in a hotel on Saturday with the symbol and name plate of the candidate without taking prior permission. And, when the video recording team went to the hotel, Garg and his party celebrity Col Devendra Singh did not allow videography, officials said.
