Postpone Noida polls: Cong tells EC

Left in the lurch after its Gautam Buddha Nagar nominee Ramesh Chand Tomar joined the BJP just a week before the Lok Sabha election, Congress has written to the Election Commission demanding that the nomination process in the seat be started afresh and polling be postponed to May 12.

"We have written to the Election Commission seeking postponement of polls. We may also file a PIL if needed to get a court order for the postponement," Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee (UPCC) spokesperson Dhirendra Singh said in Noida on Friday.
