The Congress today complained to the Chief Electoral Officer and the special observer for West Bengal that the ruling Trinamool Congress was indulging in violence and also alleged that it was terrorising opposition party workers.
"For the last three days before the last phase of elections, violence has erupted in several places. Trinamool Congress activists have attacked workers of the Congress and other political parties and ransacked party offices," senior Congress leader Pradip Bhattacharya said after meeting CEO Sunil Gupta and special observer Sudhir Kumar Rakesh separately.
Bhattacharya, a Rajya Sabha MP and former WBPCC president, claimed, "The Trinamool Congress is desperate to snatch a few seats and would indulge in poll rigging to make up for its loss of popularity owing to the Saradha scam fallout."
