TRS chief's son wins from Sircilla in Telangana

The first result in Telangana has gone in favour of TRS as K Taraka Rama Rao, son of TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao, emerged victorious from Sircilla Assembly seat in Karimnagar district with a margin of over 49,035 votes.

KTR, as he is popularly known, polled 85,826 votes, defeating his nearest Congress rival K Ravinder Rao who got 36,791 votes, as the party appears to inch towards a majority on its own, leading in a total 63 seats of the total 119 in Telangana, which would be born as a new state on June 2.
