Press Trust of India Lucknow
Uttar Pradesh government today issued necessary directives to officials concerned for maintaining law and order during and after counting of votes of the Lok Sabha elections in the state.

"Directives have been issued to all the divisional commissioners, IGs zone, range DIGs, DMs and SPs for maintaining law and order during and after counting of the Lok Sabha elections," Principal Secretary (Home) Anil Kumar Gupta said here.

It has also been mentioned in the directives that the sensitive areas of all districts, especially those having people of particular caste or mixed population, should be considered to be most sensitive and should be identified earlier, he said.

Adequate security arrangements like deployment of police pickets should be ensured at such places and police patrolling should be intensified in order to avoid any untoward incident during and after the counting of the Lok Sabha polls, Gupta said.
