Union Home Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Amit Shah on Tuesday said the easiest way to bring 'Parivartan' in the state is by ensuring that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's loses from Nandigram.

 

"The easiest way to bring 'Parivartan' is to make sure Mamata Didi loses from Nandigram," Shah said while addressing a press meet in Nandigram on Tuesday.

 

Shah was in Nandigram to campaign for BJP's candidate Suvendu Adhikari.

 

"Looking at the enthusiasm among the people of Nandigram, it is clear that Bharatiya Janata Party's candidate Suvendu Adhikari is going to win from here," Shah added.

 

The Union Minister also brought up the issue of women's safety in the state.

The chief minister, moments before she was about to leave for her programme at Bhangabera in the constituency - set to go to polls on April 1 -- was seen sitting calmly inside the vehicle, as police personnel deputed for her safety made sure that the saffron camp supporters got out of her way.

Ahead of PM Narendra Modi's visit, weapons recovered in Assam's Kokrajhar

Assam Police recovered arms and ammunition including three AK 56, three AK 56 magazines and 157 rounds of bullets in the Gossaigaon area of Kokrajhar on Monday.

 

It was ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Kokrajhar that a huge cache of arms and ammunition has been recovered from here. He is scheduled to address an election rally in Kokrajhar on April 1.
