Elections in Bihar were not only the top news trend in India, but also in neighbouring Pakistan, where it became the most discussed topic on their Twitter timelines.
News websites in Pakistan also showed keen interest in the elections. Pakistan had become a trending topic during the Bihar elections, after
BJP General-Secretary Amit Shah had told an election rally in Raxaul that if BJP lost the Bihar election, crackers will go off in Pakistan.

Journalist Raza Ahmad Rumi tweeted, "Ruling BJP has conceded defeat in Bihar. Some in Pakistan need to learn a bit from India on accepting electoral verdicts and not cry 'rigging'.
Some tweets chose to be humourous. "Sorry, it's all the smoke from the crackers in Pakistan," tweeted former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah. It was a jibe at Amit Shah.
Some Twitter users were seeing BJP's defeat in Bihar in the perspective of India-Pakistan ties. Amir Matin wrote: "Bihar battle will decide whether Modi will prove to be a game changer in India-Pakistan issues or not." Naseem Zehra tweeted: "Everyone who is in opposition to the BJP or RSS is being dubbed a Pakistani. This is not good politics." Another user asked "whether the BJP will now send all of us to Bihar?"
Virendra Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar also dominated timelines there. Sehwag and Tendulkar are part of the T20 All Star League, being played in the US. The league has teams with both Indian and Pakistani players.
