A meeting between Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and Congress to finalise seat sharing ended inconclusive. The parties had decided to conduct futher talks to finalise the seats.

According to reports, a delegation from Congress, including leaders Ghulam Nabi Azad and Mukul Wasnik, along with the regional party leaders visited DMK president M Karunanidhi at his residence and had discussion with the DMK leaders. While the seat sharing was discussed, it did not lead to any discussion on the possible number of seats to be shared, Azad told reporters after the meeting.

The strategies to be taken for the upcoming election were discussed. DMK leader M K Stalin said that the discussion with Congress was cordial.
