Majority of the exit polls predict DMK is set to win 2016 Tamil Nadu assembly elections.

According ot Axis-My India Tamil Nadu exit poll predicts AIADMK would win 89-101 seats, while DMK+ will win 124-140 seats, BJP-0-3 seats and Others 4-8 seats.

News Nation Exit Poll showed AIADMK will win about 95-99 seats, while DMK will win 114-118 seats, PWF 14 seats, BJP 4 seats and Others 9 seats.

Times Now-C Voters - TN Election Exit Poll is the only predicted win for AIADMK. The poll showed AIADMK will win 139 seats, while DMK will win in 78 seats, BJP O and 17 seats for others.

 

If the predictions of DMK + win, M Karunanidhi will be the next Chief Minister of the State. The 93-year old Karunanidhi has been the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu six times in the past.

Tamil Nadu has registered voters' turnout of 69.19 per cent as on 5 p.m. During the 2016 Assembly election as compared to 78.02 per cent during the 2011 election. Despite several attempts by Tamil Nadu Election Commission for 100 per cent voting the voters turnout was low. Chennai and other major towns sees low turn outs. The results will be announced on May 19.

Tamil Nadu was leading till 10 a.m compared to Puducherry and Kerala turnouts but then started slowing down.

The 15th Assembly election has started off with slow turn around and till lunch it continued in slow pace due to rain in southern and delta districts. In Chennai also average rain has impacted the voting. For instance, at Vedaranyam in South Tamil Nadu 10.2 centimeter rain was reported till afternoon.
