Jayalalithaa stakes claim to form govt, stage set for oath on Monday

AIADMK general secretary and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J.Jayalalithaa today met Tamil Nadu Governor K Rosaiah and formerly staked claim to form the next government. List of cabinet Ministers, who will be taking oath along with the party's Supermo was also released.

The swearing-in ceremony will be held on May 23 at 12 noon at Madras University Centenary Auditorium

Jayalalithaa met the Governor and gave him a copy of the resolution passed by the party's newly elected legislators electing her as the AIADMK's legislature leader. Jayalalithaa-led AIADMK won 8lin 134 seats the concluded assembly elections. Total seats in the Assembly is 234, for two seats elections will be held on June.

 

Jaylalithaa also handed over a list of 29 legislators who will be appointed as the ministers.
