Bank on Monday reported 25.2 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 177.10 crore during the second quarter ended September 30. The bank had a net profit of Rs 141.44 crore in the July-September quarter of 2014-15. However, the total income decreased to Rs 5,317.06 crore during the quarter under review from Rs 5,416.63 crore in the year-ago period, it said in a filing to the BSE.
On asset quality, the gross non-performing assets (NPAs) were trimmed to 5.26 per cent of gross advances as against 5.36 per cent in the July-September period of FY15.
Net NPAs, however, grew to 3.61 per cent from 3.54 per cent of net advances in the year-ago period.
Allahabad Bank scrips shot up 5.04 per cent at Rs 78.2 a piece on the BSE.
