Allahabad Bank recorded a marginal increase in net profit at Rs 369.46 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2008 as compared to Rs 365 crore for the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal.
Total income of the Kolkata-based bank increased 17.89 per cent to Rs 2,306 crore during the quarter as against Rs 1,956 crore for the corresponding quarter a year ago.
The bank shares rose 5.3 per cent to Rs 54.60 today as against the previous close of Rs 51.85 on the Bombay Stock Exchange.
