Other income surged 76 per cent at Rs 207.89 crore. Total income grew 15.52 per cent at Rs 770.39 crore. The bank made a provision of Rs 75 crore for non performing assets (NPAs) and Rs 62 crore for tax during the second quarter.
The net NPAs of the bank stood at 1.07 per cent of net advances at the end of the quarter, as compared to 2.59 per cent as on September 30, 2002.
For the half-year ended September, net profit grew 70.75 per cent at Rs 255.66 crore, as compared to Rs 149.72 crore in the same period last year.
On a paid-up capital of Rs 400 crore, it works out to an annualised earnings per share of Rs 12.78.
