The company, presently ranked eighth in life insurance market in India, plans to double its employee strength in next two years to generate more business.
Aviva Life Insurance on Tuesday launched its two new offices located in Kothrud and Pimpci-Chinchwad in Pune. The company would also have another two offices in Pune itself by December this year.
Jayeeta Sen, regional director (West), Aviva said, "We are present in 3,000 locations across India and have 39 bank partners for our business. We enjoy 3.5 per cent market share in the life insurance business in India and have more than 37,000 employees. western India remains the fastest growing market for us and hence, we are expanding on a major scale."
The company has presence in tier-three cities of Maharashtra like Ahmednagar, Nashik, Baramati, Kolhapur and also in Goa. "With a total paid-up capital of Rs 1,004.5 crore, we are all set to become one of the top five players in Indian life insurance sector by year end.
The western India market will play a crucial role for us in near future," Sen added. The company has 49 branches in Maharashtra, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh out of which, 26 are located in Maharashtra. "We will have 11 new branches in western region this year to promote our insuarnce products all of which are unit-linked," she asserted.
