Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance Company Limited has tied up with 'iguru.biz', a self-study online portal for training insurance agents. The portal belongs to the city-based C&K Management.

The Insurance Regulatory Development Authority (Irda) has accorded its approval to the portal for training Bajaj Allianz's insurance agents. The course comprises learning modules organised into four levels " life insurance introduction, principles and practices, applications and agents' development.

Once the agents of Bajaj Allianz, presently numbering 25,000, complete the 100-hour course online, they can directly appear for the Irda examination.

C&K Management is promoted by TMI Network with venture funding from ICICI Venture and APIDC Venture Capital. It also runs another portal 'TheManagementor.com,' for knowledge enhancement of working executives.

According to T Muralidharan, managing director of C&K Management, iguru has developed an instructional design suitable for graduates and 12th class pass-outs to become insurance agents.

The courseware has been developed by experts in the insurance sector and a help desk has been set up to immediately cater to the needs of participants. The portal offers the latest course management, student management, assessment and reporting tools, he said.

On the alliance with the iguru.biz, Bajaj Allianz chief executive Sam Ghosh said in a release that E-learning was gaining momentum at the company.

The online learning enables one to learn anything, anytime and anywhere. It is more cost-effective and convenient than the traditional instructor-led training, he said.
