Bank of India raises $500 mn

State-owned Bank of India today said it has raised $500 million through the issue of notes.

"The bank has raised $500 million (nearly Rs 2,252 crore) through issue of Senior notes under Medium Term Note (MTN) Programme on March 31, 2010 through the bank's London Branch," Bank of India said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).

The coupon rate is 4.75 per cent per annum and the tenure of the bonds is 5 years 6 months, it said.

The bonds are listed on the Singapore Stock Exchange, it added.

Shares of Bank of India today closed at Rs 366.60 on the BSE, up 1.69 per cent from previous close.
