Public sector Bank of Maharashtra today said it is planning to open about 100 branches across the country, of which 12 branches would be opened in Rajasthan.
Bank of Maharashtra Chairman and Managing Director Allen C A Pereira said the bank would increase the number of branches from 18 to 30 by the end of this fiscal.
"We are planning to open 100 more branches across the country. The bank has 50 licences in hand which would take the total tally to 1475. Rajasthan will get at least 12 of these new branches," he said.
He said the business of the bank has grown over Rs 87,072 crore as on March 31, 2009. This includes deposits of Rs 52,255 crore and advances of Rs 34,817 crore.
"The business of Jaipur region is Rs 1,164.88 crore rising deposits of Rs 332.86 crore and advances of Rs 832.02 crore. We are targeting a business of Rs 2,000 crore by this fiscal with special focus on SMEs and retail customers," Pereira said.
The net profit of the bank in this fiscal stood at Rs 375.17 crore, up 14.24 per cent.
