In a first of its kind meeting, chief executives of public sector banks will share their perceptions about the role of vigilance in the state-run industry in Delhi tomorrow.
The meeting, called by chief vigilance officer (CVO) P Shankar, will aim to redefine the role of the CVO as well as the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in banking. Vigilance commissioner for the financial sector and former State Bank of India chairman Janki Ballabh will also attend the meeting.
Bankers are suggesting special training for CBI officials in financial matters. The training can be conducted by State Bank of India.
