State Bank of India Chairman O P Bhatt has been elected as the new Chairman of the Indian Banks Association (IBA) for 2010-11.
Bhatt will take over the reins of the bank association from Union Bank Chairman and Managing Director M V Nair.
HDFC Bank Managing Director Aditya Puri, Bank of Baroda Chairman and Managing Director M D Mallya and Canara Bank Chairman and Managing Director A C Mahajan were elected as Deputy Chairmen.
Yes Bank Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Rana Kapoor has been elected as Honorary Secretary of the association.
The association elected its office bearers after the conclusion of its annual general meeting held today.
