Bond yield ends high

Government bonds fell on Tuesday, snapping two days of gains. The 10-year bond yield closed one basis point higher at 8.45 per cent. It traded in a 8.33-8.47 per cent band during the session.

Liqudity remains tight post tax payout
The call rates moved in a 10.15-10.60 per cent band. The systemic liquidity remained tight tracking outflows towards advance tax payments and, the money market rates too persisted in double digits.

This tightness was also reflected in the quantum of borrowings made under the MSF, which touched Rs 1,42,681 cr on Monday (September 16, 2013).
