Falling in line with other major nationalised banks, the Canara Bank has taken up a phased programme to bring all its 17 branches in Mysore under the core banking solutions (CBS).

So far, it has brought four branches under the CBS, starting from the Ramakrishnanagar branch. The fourth bank to have CBS facility was Vijayanagar second stage branch today.

"Every 3-4 days once, we are bringing our branches in the city under CBS networking," senior manager ST Ramachandra told Business Standard on Wednesday

Canara Bank has around 2,500 branches across the country, of which 250 are core banking branches. More and more branches are being upgraded into core banking branches which will create all-India networking.

"Upgradation of branches into core banking will be of immense help to our customers as they can access their accounts from any part of the country online," Ramachandra said.

In view of migration of the city branches to CBS, Canara Bank has announced a common weekly holiday on Sundays and half-working day on Saturdays for all its branches in Mysore region.
