CCL and SBI launch smart cards

Pune based City Corporation Limited in association with State Bank of India (SBI) is issuing multi-function smart cards to the residents of ‘Amanora’. A ‘data centre’ has been set up with the investment of Rs 70 crore for the technical support of the society. Recently, an agreement to this effect was signed between City Corporation and SBI.

According to City Corporation, Amanora is India’s fiRst digital city and the fiRst fully integrated township being set up where multiple technologies have been brought together to facilitate hassle free living for its membeRs.

This card is a combination of microchip, magnetic strip and RFID antenna.

 

Commenting on this, Aniruddha Deshpande, managing director, City Corporation Limited said, "With our development effort of over three yeaRsalong with leading technology partneRs, we are happy to have reached this stage of developing the fiRst such dedicated and integrated application for residential purposes."

Apart from debit card, it can be used as an access card to township, residence, parking lot and different sectoRswithin the township. It can also be used for payment of cable television bills, club expenses, shopping at Amanora Town Centre, among otheRs. This card will additionally have health records of the ‘Amanora’ Citizens in case of an emergency. City Corporation will tie up with SBI to provide the financial solutions.This card will act as a pre-paid card for electricity and cooking gas.
